“my aim is to give back to my community the benefits I have received from Starfish Malawi sponsorship.” Sarah Malala, Sponsored by Starfish Malawi , who became a School Teacher

Our Projects

Our main areas of work in Malawi are based in the districts of Salima & Kasungu (Central Malawi) and the capital - Lilongwe.

Our 12 projects fit into four key areas of development, we have identified as main contributors
in lifting communities out of extreme poverty: Christian Teaching, Education, Health and Community Development.

Project 1 - Schools Linking

Starfish currently link 30 primary schools in the UK with the same number in Malawi through educational partnerships to develop global citizenship for children in both countries.  Developing regular contact between the linked schools teachers is encouraged.

Project 2 - Secondary School Student Sponsorship

Please click here to find out more information

Our Secondary School Student Sponsorship programme provides Secondary School education for some of the orphans and vulnerable children, most of whom are from our linked primary schools.   The number that are sponsored depends on how many people are willing and able to sponsor a child.

Sadly we are unable to assist those who are seeking sponsorship for University and College fees and are not able to recommend another organisation that would be able to help.
